Figure @ ACAD June 7
Rebecca modelled for us.
My demo and discussion which centred around how to describe light and form with shading and how to see and create edges. Below are some of the studies my students created in class.

Extended Studies figure drawing
Here are even more figure drawings from the past final figure drawing class sessions from this semester. Thats a mouthful I won't try saying repeating quickly and consecutively.
Anyone recognize our model?

More figures from drawing 1 class today
We were fortunate in my drawing 1 course to have one more day of figure drawing. We did a lot of warm of gestures because the model we had, Karen, is expressive and dynamic in her poses. Here are a few I managed to snap during a brief break.

Fabric Folds
Take a look at some of the pieces mid process.
And how the darks and lights have been treated.
And how solutions are developed alongside the work.
How the values are observed then pushed further.
And softness and texture applies.
Adding in material....
Then taking it away...
Building up tone and background values, and adding shadows and highlights
Until it looks as real and velvety as it feels.
