On with the show

Getting an exhibit ready takes time and effort. I wasn't quite sure what I was going to show at first. I knew I'd include some of the pieces I did while traveling abroad.

 I had new paintings inspired by my vacation in Puerto Rico. I wanted to capture the feeling and energy with the bright colours and nature on the island.

 I found some frames that fit the drawings fairly well and my helper did a fantastic job framing the work up for me.

 I also included some of my favourite images from Italy which allowed me to try out my new photo printer.

 I laid the work out at the New Edward gallery along the wall while Eddie and Karen were rolling out a final coat of paint on the gallery walls.

 They offered to hang the pieces as I had a lot on my plate and it was late, they did a great job!

The leaves are on the fruit and the fruit are on the leaves, what is it?

A pineapple.

In Puerto rico I saw these growing in pots in El Yunque and on peoples stoops in Old San Juan.
Here are some of the steps I took in creating one of my pieces for the exhibition I had at the New Edward Gallery this past week-end.

In the palm of my hand

puntista strikes again.

I'm sharing my procedure for the creation of the palm tree piece inspired by my view at the Aquarius suites in Dorado Puerto Rico. My phone and pictures drowned so I only had a few references remaining including the studies I did of these three palms nearly every morning.

I would see the sun rise and set and where the cross meets is the time that I would leave my spot on the beach to meet my group, who drank every night and woke up later in the day. The X marks that spot.
